Advent Atum wins Defence Trailblazer contribution for counter-UAS technology advancement

Sydney, Australia – 10 October 2025 – Advent Atum has been awarded a matched funding contribution through the Defence Trailblazer: Technology Development and Acceleration (TDA) program, supporting the continued development of its HORAS family of systems — including the HORAS Threat Detection and Engagement (TDE) intelligent fire-control system and the new HORAS Surveillance software platform.
This 1-to-3 matched funding contribution will accelerate the next phase of sovereign counter-UAS innovation in Australia, expanding HORAS capabilities in passive sensing to enhance detection, tracking, and situational awareness for existing and future customers.
“This is another big step forward for Australian-made autonomy,” said Andy Wilson, CEO of Advent Atum. “Trailblazer’s support allows us to push HORAS from push the envelope in what is possible in the machine learning space.”
The Defence Trailblazer program, led by UNSW and the University of Adelaide in partnership with the Commonwealth, is designed to bridge industry and academia - fast-tracking sovereign capability and commercial pathways for cutting-edge defence technology.

Advent Atum will use the partnership with UNSW Space and the contribution to strengthen the HORAS ecosystem’s modular integration across surveillance systems, remote weapon stations, anti-aircraft platforms, and ground-based air-defence systems, while advancing AI, networking, and multi-sensor fusion for real-time threat response and surveillance operations.
HORAS systems are already operating in field trials and continue to position Advent Atum as a global leader in intelligent fire-control, counter-drone, and autonomous surveillance technologies.
