MEDIA RELEASE Sydney, Australia — 21 November 2025

Australian defence technology company Advent Atum is pleased to confirm it has received a purchase order from Thales UK to commence a Proof of Concept (POC) project under the Thales Global Supply Chain (GSC) Program, building on the company’s recent success in the Thales Digital Factory’s #TrustMyTech accelerator program.

Earlier this year, Advent Atum was selected as the winner of the Thales  “AI for Air Defence” Challenge, a global competition designed to identify and partner with leading innovators in artificial intelligence, sensor fusion, and autonomous defence systems.

Under this new purchase order, Advent Atum will collaborate with Thales UK’s air defence teams to demonstrate and integrate AI-driven fire control and threat evaluation capabilities that enhance target detection, decision-making, and engagement across next-generation air defence platforms.

“This collaboration underscores our shared commitment to advancing autonomy, safety, and precision in air defence,” said Andy Wilson, CEO of Advent Atum. HORAS integratenables a single operator to command multiple autonomous weapon systems simultaneously, transforming distributed platforms into a coordinated air defence network that can engage far more threats than manual crews operating independently.

The Proof of Concept will initially integrate Advent Atum’s HORAS DDS (Drone Detection Software, and later HORAS TDE intelligent fire control system, validating the company’s capability to contribute to global integrated air and missile defence programs.

Ryan Carmichael, Director at Advent Atum, added:

“Working directly with Thales UK represents a major milestone for Advent Atum’s international growth and a recognition of the sovereign innovation emerging from Australia’s defence technology sector.”

Industry programs like GSC work best when they create genuine pathways for SMEs into global supply chains, and Thales has demonstrated a model of partnership that delivers real outcomes. Their leadership and commitment to collaboration have been outstanding. We’re excited for the next phase of work and for the opportunities this opens for our team and our technology

Advent Atum’s participation in the Thales TrustMyTech Accelerator program was supported by the Thales Digital Factory and Thales Australia’s Global Supply Chain (GSC) team, which helps connect Australian SMEs with Thales’ global procurement network.
